Good Works to Bring LIBERTY!

By madis senner

'Free ourselves and free others...

That is the goal of all our campaigns: Liberty. It is what is at the heart of the Jubilee Initiative—To reinvigorate the spirit of liberty in the United States of America.

A Little Rebellion Now and Then:
'I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical….It is a medicine necessary for the sound health of governments'.
Thomas Jefferson in a letter to James Madison. Paris January 30, 1787.

Before we can begin any discussion of how we can make a better world we need to free all Americans and give democracy back to the people. We must give life and real meaning to the words We are all created equal. We start this process by removing the powerbase of the select handful of special interests, institutions/corporations and individuals that control the political process and use the media and others means to manipulate us. All of our Good Works are designed to rebalance the powerbase of our great country and make a fair and just America.

Most of us think in terms of political parties, legislation and law as ways to bring about change. Unfortunately, the balance of power has become so skewed in the USA that these tried and true methods have become ineffectual. Such efforts are fought in a battlefield now dominated by money--the one with the Biggest War Chest wins. And 'Special Interests" have an unlimited War Chest.

We need to consider new and creative strategies. To rebalance power in this country we need to go after the source of the injustice—its powerbase. It is our only chance. As we noted in Temple of Our Culture money and the market rule us! The abandonment of fixed exchange rates in 1973 began a push to reduce the power and control of the government, increasing the power of the private sector relative to government. Money began to control the political process, shifting the balance of oversight in government from the function of protecting citizens from corporations and big business to protecting them from criminals or rogue nations. This shift has allowed special interests, corporations and the wealthy to hijack democracy.

This does not mean the return of Big Government. Rather it is about taking money out of the political equation. It is about removing the special status granted to corporations. It is about making sure that "We are all created equal" is a reality and not a mirage. It is about having a government be Of the people and for the people". It is about reinvigorating the spirit of liberty and justice for all in America.

An Empire of Liberty
'It has ever been my hobby-horse to rising in America an empire of liberty, an a prospect of two or three hundred millions of freemen, without one noble or one king among them. You say it is impossible. If I should agree with you in this, I would still say, let us try the experiment, and preserve our equality as long as we can.'
John Adams in a letter to Count Sarsfield, London, February 3, 1786.

All of our Good Works are within the law. They have historical precedence in that similar campaigns have succeeded in the past. For example, we are looking to reduce the power of the Federal Reserve. President Andrew Jackson repealed the charter of the Second National Bank. The Jubilee Amendment looks to rebalance wealth; the 1981 Economic Recovery Act under President Ronald Reagan taxed oil companies windfall profits in the 1970’s. The Jubilee Amendment similarly looks to redistribute the wealth of the super rich that have un-justly profited from the policy bias of the 1990’s. As for corporate charters and corporate identity, both concepts fly in the face of the principle upon which our great country was founded We are all created equal. These are the words that drove President Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. They are words which can inspire us today. Bear them in mind as we follow in the footsteps of those that walked the path for Liberty before us --We like them will be tested and challenged. May they give you strength!

Bringing About Liberty

Stop the Money Flow of Injustice—The FED HEAD protests--We are asking the Federal Reserve be stripped of its independence and made answerable to the people. The Fed’s independence and un-accountability flies in the face of the checks and balances of democracy in our country. The Federal Reserve is responsible for many of the inequities we see in America, in the world for that fact, from wealth and income inequality, to corporate governance and power whether it be domestically or globally, to labor/consumer finance/environmental issues. Basically the Fed is the bagman for the wealthy and special interests in our country. Join the Fed Head Protest!

Ending Corporate Identity 'We are all created equal'are meaningless and hollow words in America today. Corporations have a special legal status that puts them above the law. It is time we repealed that law. This issue is more than a legal or democratic or even an injustice issue. It is a deep issue of faith. Those of us of faith must stand up and no longer allow ourselves to be held dominion over by some super-national and invisible entity created by our fellow Americans for their pursuit of profits and power. It is time we repealed this gross injustice and effrontery to those of faith. The Catacombs" talks about the effrontery of corporate identity to those of faith in more detail.

Jubilee AmendmentThe Jubilee Amendment looks to rebalance wealth in America by employing creative financial engineering strategies. Modeled after the 'JUBILEE' in Leviticus 25. Its aim is to recoup and redistribute the gains of the extremely wealthy that have benefited from a policy of prejudice and those that have benefited from corporate welfare As we pointed out in Corporate Welfare: The Case, The Face, The Remedy, to rebalance the playing field. The goal of the jubilee amendment is to make all Americans stakeholders in America.

Implementation—There is no grand strategy, no big organization only you! You to take it upon yourself to ghost/protest, to talk or however you be so inclined or guided. As we noted in The Meek are Getting Ready we must all become activists to make a better world. Ending top down rule cannot begin from the top it begins within and from the bottom! Volunteer and you will be called!

Natural Aristocracy

"I agree with you that there is a natural aristocracy among men. The grounds of this are virtue and talents. Formerly, bodily powers gave place among the aristoi. But since the invention of gunpowder has armed the weak as well as the strong with missile death, bodily strength like beauty, good humor, politeness and other accomplishments , has become but an auxiliary ground of distinction. There is also an artificial aristocracy, founded on wealth and birth, without either virtue or talents; for with these it would belong to the first class. The natural aristocracy I consider as the most precious gift of nature, for the instruction, the trusts, and government society. And indeed, it would have been inconsistent in creation to have formed man for the social state, and not to have provided virtue and wisdom enough to manage the concerns of the society. May we not even say, that that form of government is the best, which provides the most effectually for a pure selection of these natural aristoi into the offices of government? The artificial aristocracy is a mischievous ingredient in government, and provision should be made to prevent its ascendency".
Thomas Jefferson in a letter to John Adams, Monticello, October 28, 1813.
