Witness for Dr. Rafil Dhafir
In the tradition of the prophets we have undertaken to have a series of Witnesses to tell of the crime done to our community and to our country. We do this not only because we are people of faith but because recent revelations regarding the US Attorney’s scandal confirm that American democracy and justice have been corrupted. We turn to God because it is only God that can save us.
We believe that the government overstepped its bounds in the prosecution of Dr. Rafil Dhafir. Each witness will return to the scene of the crime committed against him and testimony will be heard.
We believe that US attorney Glen Suddaby epitomizes a “loyal Bushie”. We believe that at least three of his prosecutions—Dhafir, Aref/Hossain and the St. Pats 4-- were highly partisan political witch hunts meant to garner trophies in the war on terror at all cost for the Bush administration and to punish critics of it.
We believe that the Northern District of NY US attorney’s office is guilty of prosecutorial misconduct and selective prosecution.
We also believe that high up Federal authorities "loyal Bushies" pushed local and state officials to go above and beyond. Who did Onondaga County correctional office Sgt. Joe Powlina refer to when he said "the government" told him to deny legal counsel to visit Dr. Dhafir? Who ordered the NYS Troopers to begin an internal affairs investigation of Trooper Charles Jones days after he said he would monitor Dr. Dhafir should he get bail? Who ordered that Trooper Charles Jones subsequently take early retirment? WHo....? Clearly some "Loyal Bushie", maybe even Karl Rove himself, drove county and state employees.
